Hyderabad: GITAM organizes Workshop on AI and Large Language Models
The Department of Mathematics at GITAM School of Science is pleased to announce a two-day national workshop on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models’ scheduled to be held at the J-311 seminar hall on March 27-28, 2024. Prof. Motahar Reza, Convener of this workshop has informed in a press release on Monday.
The workshop aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of key concepts and practical applications in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and large language models (LLM). Through engaging sessions and expert-led discussions, attendees will gain insights into the fundamental principles and techniques of AI, its significance in modern society, and real-world applications across various domains.
Additionally, the workshop seeks to introduce participants to the basics of NLP and its role in AI, enabling them to grasp essential text analysis techniques. Ultimately, it endeavors to equip participants with the skills and insights necessary to effectively leverage AI and LLM in their respective fields and contribute to innovation and problem-solving endeavors.
Prof. Siba Udgata, University of Hyderabad; Prof. Animesh Mukherjee, IIT Kharagpur; Dr. Akansha Kumar, Principal Data Scientist, Jio Platforms; Prof. Maunendra Sankar Desarkar, IIT Hyderabad; Prof. Radhika Mamidi, IIIT Hyderabad; and Prof. Sayantan Mondal, GITAM would be the main resource persons.
The workshop is designed for academicians, research scholars, and students at the B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc. level working in the areas of AI/Data Science.

INR 42.90 lakhs Research Project to GITAM
Prof. Dayananda Siddavattam, Vice-Chancellor of GITAM Deemed to be University, is pleased to announce the approval of a research project by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
The project, titled ” Development of synthetic route of Oxyrane containing N-methyl ploy-5-vinyl Tetrazole energetic binder,” will be led by Dr. Kanaka Durga Bhaskar Yamajala, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, GITAM School of Science, Hyderabad. The project has been allocated a provisional budget of INR 42.90 lakhs.
Prof. Siddavattam commended the Principal Investigators (PI) for his exceptional achievement and encouraged all members of the GITAM family to celebrate this momentous occasion.
