Ranji Trophy: Vidarbha Ended Day 4 At 248/5, Chasing A Target Of 538
In the ongoing Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Vidarbha, Vidarbha ended Day 4 at 248 for 5 wickets, chasing a target of 538 at Wankhede stadium. The two-time winners, Vidarbha still need 290 runs to win. Earlier, Mumbai posted a target of 538, riding on Musheer Khan’s century.
A great fightback from Vidarbha as they take this game into the 5th and final day. Considering how they folded in the first innings, not many expected them to last this long but they’ve batted with a grim resolve and held Mumbai at bay even when conditions didn’t really favour them.
Batting was really difficult throughout the day, particularly against the spinners who were getting some to turn very sharply while getting others to skid through. Karun Nair was the standout with his 74 but he had to depart after getting a beauty from Musheer Khan.
That was the only wicket to fall in the session even as the Mumbai bowlers looked very threatening. It leaves Vidarbha needing 290 runs and Mumbai needing 5 wickets on the final day. All to play for then on Day 5, we shall see you tomorrow.
