Hyderabad: Seminar on Chips for Viksit Bharat held at GITAM
G-Electra and The Institution of Engineers (India) Student Chapter have successfully organized a one-day seminar on ‘India’s Techade – Chips for Vikasit Bharat’ at GITAM School of Technology (GST) in Hyderabad on March 13, 2024. The event was held in association with the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EECE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME).
The seminar was graced by the presence of Mr. Narendra Korlepara, Senior Director and Site Leader at Synopsys, Hyderabad, who delivered an insightful talk on ‘Semiconductor Ecosystem; driven by Software and Chips’. Korlepara emphasized the bright future of the semiconductor industry, with an expected increase in the market value by 2030. He highlighted the importance of academia in producing talent for the industry and advised budding engineers to focus on core areas and develop strong communication skills.
Prof. V.R.Sastry, Director of GST, presided over the program, stressed the need for increased investment in the semiconductor industry by the Government of India and encouraged students to actively participate in driving the mission to transform the country into a global hub for chip manufacturing and design.
The seminar also featured a live streaming of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s speech on the YouTube Channel, as well as an interactive session highlighting the technological advancements by Mr. Ayush Sharma, Senior Silicon Design Engineer at AMD.
Online interactive session with the team PHYTEC Embedded Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore focused on the topic ‘Embedded Design services experiences’ and the role of young Engineers’ requirements to the industry.
Prof. T.Madhavi, HoD of EECE Department, delivered the welcome note and outlined the aim of the seminar, while Prof. P.Srinivas, HoD of ME, proposed the vote of thanks.
