CII Mega Plantation Award Recognizes GITAM’s Environmental Contribution
GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad, has been honored with the prestigious ‘CII Mega Plantation’ award by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The award was received by DVVSR Varma, Resident Director, during the “CII Telangana State Annual Meeting 2023-24 & Conference on Building Competitive and Sustainable Telangana” recently held at Hyderabad.
The recognition was bestowed upon GITAM for its active participation in the Mega Plantation Drive, where the university planted approximately 8,000 saplings in 2023. GITAM has consistently received this award for seven consecutive years, highlighting its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.
DVVSR Varma expressed his joy and appreciation for the award, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of students and staff in contributing to environmental conservation.
