NIELIT Organizes ‘Mera Pehla Vote Mere Desh Ke Liye’ Programme for First-Time Voters

As a part of the countrywide awareness campaign called “Mera Pehla Vote Mere Desh Ke Liye” to encourage new and first-time voters to exercise their right to franchise the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) organised a programme at their campus today for the students who are also first-time voters.

In the programme, the students of the institute took a pledge to exercise their right to cast a vote in the ensuing elections. Prashanta Kumar Nath, Programme & Information Officer of NIELIT, Agartala administered the oath.

Earlier, two inspirational documentaries were screened before the students about the elections and patriotism. Mr. Nath said, “The programme is aimed at motivating students and first-time voters, encouraging them to participate in the election process by casting their votes. He said that all the students who participated in the event expressed their keenness to cast their vote.
