Srinagar-Jammu National Highway continues to remain closed for vehicular traffic on 2nd day
In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway NH-44 continues to remain closed for vehicular traffic on the second day today.
SSP traffic National Highway Rohit Baskotra said that due to continuous rain, shooting stones and landslides occurring at dozens of places between the Nashri and Banihal area, the road is closed.
He said that restoration work is in full swing and NHAI men and machinery are on the job to clear the mudslides, debris and boulders at Mehad, Cafeteria Mod, Dalwas, Hagni, Kashtiwari Pathar and other places on NHW to restore the traffic on the highway.
Meanwhile, the commuters have been advised by the traffic authorities not to undertake any journey on the National Highway till the road restoration work is completed.
