Southern Educational Group in collaboration with IGZP organized a Nutrition Awareness Camp at Zoo Park

Southern Educational Institutions in collaboration with IGZP organized a Nutrition Awareness Camp near Bioscope area in Zoo Park Yesterday. Sri. Srikantha Natha Reddy, IFS, CCF, Visakhapatnam attended as a chief guest and inaugurated the programme.

Food nutritionist students and faculty members of Southern Group College examined the visitors to the zoo and guided them about what should be the cholesterol level based on their height and weight, ideal weight according to their age, how to change the eating habits to be healthy, and what is the BMI etc.

It is a happy gesture to organize such health awareness programs in Vizag Zoo said, Sri Srikantha Natha Reddy, IFS, CCF, Visakhapatnam. Such awareness programs are very necessary for the present lifestyle in the society, he added.

Dr. Nandani Salaria, IFS, Curator, IGZP said that more awareness programs will be organized in collaboration with the Southern Group in the coming days. In the present days, due to not being able to pay proper attention to food, people are suffering from obesity from a young age, said Sri.Satish, CMD, Southern Group. Visitors from different places to the zoo and the zoo staff have also been made aware about what food should be taken at what time and how much quantity.

About 1000 visitors were made aware in this program. Smt. Mangamma, DCF, IGZP, Assistant Curators Shri Gopi, Shri. Gopala Naidu, Forest Section Officers Smt. Bharathi, Shri. Rajeswara Rao, Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Principal, Southern Educational Institution, zoo staff and students of Southern College participated in the program.
