Snowfall continues in the high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh for the second day today, affecting life. There has been one and a half feet of snowfall in Keylong of Lahaul-Spiti, the tribal district of the state, about two feet in Udaipur while up to four feet of snowfall has occurred on the higher peaks.

Due to snowfall, all the internal roads of the valley including Manali, and Keylong are blocked. Because of the danger of avalanches falling in the valley, the district administration has advised people not to undertake unnecessary travel.

At the same time, snowfall is continuing in the higher reaches of Kinnaur, Kullu, Chamba, and Shimla districts and there is widespread rainfall in the lower areas of the state including the capital Shimla. Meanwhile, given the bad weather, the Lahaul Spiti district administration has decided to keep all government and private educational institutions of the district closed today.

Similarly, all the educational institutions of Kullu and Manali sub-divisions are also closed today. However, the examinations being conducted by the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board will be held as per the pre-determined timetable.
