Singareni annual coal production target to cross 700 lakh tonnes: CMD N. Balram

Mr. N. Balaram, CMD SCCL has asked for at least 2.35 lakh tonnes of coal production per day in March, the last month of this financial year, and transport of the same amount of coal, thereby surpassing the annual target of 700 lakh tonnes by the end of this month.

On Friday, he conducted a special review of the product with company directors and general managers of all areas at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad. Due to Corona, these review meetings which have been held only through video conference for the past three years, this time under the new chairman, the area GMs were invited to Hyderabad and a live meeting was held.

In this meeting he conducted a careful review with the General Manager of each area. Difficulties in achieving the goals in that area were discussed in the presence of the directors and immediate solutions were suggested. In order to achieve the target of 700 lakh tonnes of coal production and transportation for this year, each area GM has called upon his subordinates to review and coordinate with the overburden owners.

CMD stated that every shift was very valuable as it was the last month of the financial year. He and the directors of the company were always available and asked to ensure smooth operation of coal production without any hiccups.

He congratulated the Manuguru, Kothagudem, Illendu and Bellampally areas for surpassing the targets in all 12 areas and called upon other areas to do their best and achieve the annual targets.

Better than last year!!!

If compared to the same period last year, Singareni company has shown a much better growth. He said that 601 lakh tonnes of coal was produced at the same time last financial year and 627 lakh tonnes were produced by the end of February this year with a growth of 4.3 per cent.

In the removal of overburden, 371 million cubic meters of overburden was removed during the same period of the previous financial year, and 381 million cubic meters of overburden was removed by the end of February of this financial year with a growth of 2.7%.
