Hyderabad: GCGC Hosts Successful Industry Conclave

Career Guidance Centre (CGC) GITAM Hyderabad organized a one-day GITAM Industry Conclave (GUC)-1.0 in Shivaji Auditorium on March 1, 2024, with the theme ‘Building Bridges for Future Talent’, in collaboration with GITAM School of Technology. The event featured distinguished guests from the industry leading panel discussions, faculty interactions, and informative talks. Industry people appreciated the project demonstrations from engineering Students from Pre final year.

Vishal Mani, Managing Director of Nemetschek India, commended the management for arranging the conclave and emphasized the importance of being prepared for industry expectations. Sanjay Singh, Senior Vice President – Engineering at ATMECS, highlighted the increasing focus on AI in businesses and advised budding engineers to cultivate an engineering mindset to thrive in the industry.

Karuna Vempala, Senior Vice President – Talent Acquisition at Cigniti, stressed the importance of acquiring essential skills such as communication, writing, and technical abilities to excel in the industry. Jaipal Singh, Associate Director at Collins Aerospace, discussed the Indian government’s focus on setting up manufacturing plants and advised students to align their skills with industry trends.

Project demonstrations from engineering students 

Bhanu Prakash Mokkala, Senior Director – Engineering at ATMECS, emphasized the importance of honing skills in coding and testing, particularly in AI-based solutions. Narane Gundabathula, Global HR Operations Leader, encouraged engineers to develop a habit of thinking and problem-solving.

Prof. V.R. Sastry, Dean of Core Engineering at GITAM, expressed appreciation for the collaboration between academia and industry and highlighted the importance of sustained partnerships. Prof. N. Seetaramaiah, Associate Director at GITAM School of Technology, discussed the gap between industry and academia and the efforts to bridge it.

The event was opened by Prof. Nathi Venu Kumar, Director of Career Guidance Center at GITAM, who welcomed guests to the conclave aimed at fostering collaboration, addressing challenges, and advancing technology for the betterment of society. The event provided a platform for insightful discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing for students and faculty members. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by T Lokesh, Deputy Director of Career Fulfillment at GITAM.
