Indian Coast Guard conducted medical evacuation of fishermen successfully
New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard Ship Samudra Prahari provided medical relief and evacuated a fisherman from mid-sea, about 90 Nautical Mile West of Mumbai on Wednesday. The fisherman was suffering from severe life threatening condition since 27 Feb 24.
Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Mumbai) had received a message at 1634 hrs on 28 Feb 24 regarding a medical emergency onboard a fishing boat. ICG Ship Samudra Prahari was diverted from an operational deployment to provide necessary medical assistance.

The ICG ship effected rendezvous with fishing boat at 2250 hrs on 28 Feb 24. The 65-year-old fisherman was taken onboard the Coast Guard ship and was given primary treatment by ships Medical Officer. He was later transferred in stable condition to the other fishing boat Tesai Mauli Kripa off Mumbai, for further medical management.
