Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by four wickets in Women’s Premier League in Bengaluru
The 2nd edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) began on Friday. In the inaugural match, reigning champions Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Chasing 172 for victory, Mumbai Indians overhauled the target in last ball of the match with 4 wickets in hand. Earlier, put into bat, Delhi Capitals scored 171 for 5 in stipulated 20 overs. Harmanpreet scored 55 off just 34 balls for Mumbai Indians while Alice Capsey contributed 75 off 53 balls for Delhi Capitals. Mumbai Skipper Harmanpreet was adjudged player of the match.
On 24 Feb 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns with UP Warriorz at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The match will start at 7.30 PM, IST.
Similar to last year, five teams will compete in a total of 22 matches. Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriors are the remaining teams. All the 22 matches are divided between two prominent stadiums – Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Each of these stadiums will host 11 matches. The Eliminator is set for March 15, and the final will be held on March 17 in Delhi.
