Telangana: Representatives of various political parties underscores need for cleaning up of electoral rolls
The Representatives of various political parties in Telangana underscored the need for cleaning up of electoral rolls among others at a meeting held in Hyderabad last evening. Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Vikas Raj, convened the meeting with representatives of various political parties to share essential information regarding the forthcoming Parliamentary elections in the state.
An official release said representatives of 15 political parties including Congress, BJP, BRS, Communist Party of India, and others attended and raised different issues. The CEO briefed the representatives on the latest compliances mandated by political parties in preparation for the impending electoral process.
He also briefed about the ongoing electoral revisions and the procedures governing the enrollment of voters, emphasizing the significance of updating electoral rolls in accordance with voters’ current domicile.
The CEO assured that issues within the purview of the CEO’s office will be promptly addressed, while matters requiring higher intervention will be appropriately referred to the Election Commission of India. The meeting also emphasised a collaborative effort towards ensuring transparency, adherence to electoral norms, and the smooth conduct of the democratic process.
