Maharashtra: Unopposed Victory: Six Candidates Elected to Rajya Sabha

All six candidates were elected unopposed in the biennial Rajya Sabha elections from Maharashtra. Former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Medha Kulkarni and Dr. Ajit Gopchade were elected from BJP. Praful Patel from NCP, Chandrakant Handore from Congress and Milind Deora of Shiv Sena were elected unopposed.

On February 16, these 6 candidates were in the fray for six seats as one application was rejected during the scrutiny of applications. On the last day of withdrawal of applications today, as none of the candidates withdrew their applications, all the candidates were declared elected.
