Addressing the party leaders during office bearers meeting on the first day of the Convention yesterday, Mr. Modi urged the BJP workers to dedicate and devote themselves for the next 100 days to ensure winning 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls. Mr Modi has given the target of winning 400 seats by the NDA including 370 seats by the BJP itself.

The Prime Minister has asked party leaders and workers to add an extra 370 votes on every booth to ensure the party’s victory in the polls. The Prime Minister highlighted the target of winning 370 seats is not a number but would be a tribute to the BJP Ideologue Shayama Prasad Mookerjee who sacrificed his life for the nation. Mr. Modi also said that the BJP will go to the Lok Sabha polls on its developmental works and initiatives related to Garib Kalyan.

In his inaugural address, BJP national president Jgat Prakash Nadda said that the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been full of achievements. He said it was after thirty years that a government with an absolute majority was formed in the country in 2014 and just after five years, in 2019, again, it was a full majority government under Mr Modi’s leadership. Mr Nadda said, that during seven decades of the history of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, and Bharatiya Janata Party, it has seen every period, the period of struggle, period of neglect, the Emergency, and also the periods of winning and losing in elections.

He said, today BJP has become the largest political party in the world. He said, that before 2014, BJP governments were in only five states. The BJP president said, after 2014, today there are NDA governments in 17 states and BJP governments in 12 states. Mr Nadda said, no party except BJP is consistent on its ideology. He said that on every front, be it health, infrastructure, education, or employment, PM Modi’s leadership is fulfilling the dreams of every Indian. Mr Nadda said, Mr Modi’s leadership is truly transforming India in an unparalleled way.

A resolution on Viksit Bharat: Modi Ki Guarantee was adopted yesterday evening. Senior party leader and Union Minister Rajnath Singh moved the resolution which was seconded by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, L Murugan, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The resolution asserted that the 10 years of the Narendra Modi government have made the idea of Ram Rajya come true on the ground. It attacked the Congress, saying people lost their trust in the party quickly wherever it was in power and brought back the BJP, in a reference to states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. A host of BJP leaders highlighted the government’s development and cultural measures, and various initiatives for south India, farmers, and Sikhs during their remarks on the resolution.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in his remarks while proposing the resolution that no government has done as much for farmers as the one led by Narendra Modi. He said, farmers are no less than family for the Prime Minister.

The resolution noted that the agriculture budget under the government rose nearly five times to  1.25 lakh crore rupees from what it was during the previous Congress-led UPA dispensation. It also highlighted the transfer of 2.8 lakh crore rupees to farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme besides record procurement of grains under the minimum support price (MSP) regime.

The resolution also accused the opposition INDIA bloc of engaging in caste-based divisive politics and contrasted their approach with Modi’s assertion that the country has only four castes – the poor, farmers, women, and the youth.

The resolution stated that the national convention expresses its unbreakable trust that the Modi government in its third term will further speed up the country’s development and scale new records of success to realise the prime minister’s dream of a developed India by 2047.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke on the global gaze shifting towards the thriving economy of India amid recession in economies around the world. She said, India is growing at the fastest pace among major economies, and investments are inclined towards India, a significant achievement over the past decade.

The resolution said, that while most governments are credited with one or two achievements, the Narendra Modi government’s tenure has been marked by hundreds of historic initiatives that have improved people’s standard of living. Today on the final day, another resolution will be adopted.
