Test cricket: Opener Yashaswi Jaiswal’s Ton gives India a 322-run lead over England in Rajkot
India were 196 for the loss of 2 wickets at stumps on the day three of third test match against England in Rajkot, Gujarat.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s century and Shubman Gill’s fifty pushed India into a commanding position by the conclusion of Day 3. Jaiswal also became the first Indian batter since Virat Kohli to smash over 400 runs in an India vs England Test series.
Gill with his fifth Test fifty and Kuldeep Yadav stay unbeaten at the crease taking the lead to 322 at the end of day 3. India still have eight wickets in hand and two days of play left. For England, Joe Root and Tom Hartley took a wicket each.
Meanwhile off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has withdrawn from the Test squad due to a family medical emergency as stated by BCCI. Earlier, in response to India’s 455 runs in first innings, England were all out for 319 runs.
