Khelo India University Games will begin tomorrow in Agartala
The Khelo India University Games will commence in Agartala from tomorrow at the NSRCC sports complex. All northeastern states except Manipur will participate in the Khelo India University Games.
Addressing a press conference in state secretariat in Agartala on Saturday, Youth Affairs and Sports Secretary, Dr. Pradip Chakraborty said, around 20 sporting disciplines will be held across the northeast states.
In Tripura, sport discipline of Yogasana will be held, which will see participation of yoga participants from 13 universities from various parts of the country. Some of the prominent universities whose yoga students will compete are Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University, Nagpur, Savitribai Phule University, Pune, Lovely Professional University, Punjab, Dev Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Kalinga University of Industrial Technology and many more. 160 players and officials from different universities have reached Agartala.
The medal distribution ceremony will be held on 20th of February which will be attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, State Sports Minister Tinku Roy among others.
