Hyderabad: International Conference on ESG Concluded at GITAM
The Department of Accounting at GITAM School of Business, Hyderabad, successfully concluded a two-day International Conference on ‘Contemporary Issues in Environment, Social, and Governance’ (ESG) on February 17, 2024. The conference brought together experts, scholars, and professionals to discuss a wide range of topics related to ESG, including government policies and regulations, corporate practices, investment strategies, and stakeholder engagement.
Keynote speakers and panelists at the conference addressed the challenges and opportunities in implementing ESG practices, the role of technology in ESG, and emerging trends in ESG policies and regulations. The panel discussions and paper presentations provided valuable insights into understanding the views and concerns of stakeholders in the implementation of ESG for business sustainability.
The conference saw the participation of 154 delegates from across India, with 58 delegates presenting full papers on various topics related to ESG. The plenary sessions and paper presentations were chaired by esteemed professionals from leading institutions.
In the valedictory session, closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Divya Kirti Gupta, I/C Director of GITAM School of Business. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Gutti R K Prasad, Associate Professor at GITAM School of Business.
