Delhi: CM moves motion of confidence in ongoing budget session of Assembly

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal moved a motion of confidence in the ongoing budget session of Delhi Assembly on Friday. The discussion over the confidence motion will be held tomorrow. The session began on 15th of February with the address of Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena.

Meanwhile, seven BJP MLAs barring Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri have been suspended from Delhi Assembly for the remainder of the Budget Session for their unruly conduct in the House yesterday during LG’s address.

Their suspension came on a resolution moved by AAP MLA Dilip Pandey who sought action on this issue which was passed by the House. Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel referred the matter of disruption to the Privileges Committee. 

They will remain suspended from the proceedings of the House till the report is pending. The  BJP MLAs who have been suspended are Mohan Singh Bisht, Ajay Mahawar, O P Sharma, Abhay Verma, Anil Vajpayi, Jitender Mahajan and Vijender Gupta. Later, Leader of Opposition Bidhuri also walked out of the House in protest.

The Budget session of the Delhi Assembly has been extended till the first week of March due to delay in budget finalisation.
