RBI Central Board Meeting Held in New Delhi, Chaired by Governor Shaktikanta Das

The 606th meeting of the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India was held in New Delhi today in the presence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. According to an official press release issued by the RBI, Ms. Sitharaman highlighted the key thrust areas outlined in the interim Union Budget 2024-25 and the expectations from the financial sector.

The Board also reviewed the global and domestic economic situation and outlook, including the challenges posed by geopolitical developments and global financial market volatility.

The meeting, held under the Chairmanship of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das was attended by Deputy Governors Dr. Michael Debabrata Patra, Mr. M. Rajeshwar Rao, Mr. T. Rabi Sankar, Mr. Swaminathan J. and other Directors of the Central Board.

Ministers of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad and Pankaj Chaudhary, Finance Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan, Chief Economic Advisor Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran and secretaries, Mr. Tuhin Kanta Pandey and Dr. Vivek Joshi were also present in the meeting.
