Telangana Celebrates Bharat Ratna Announcement for PV Narasimha Rao

The people of Telangana led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed immense happiness over announcement of Bharat Ratna for former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao. The Chief Minister said, it is a matter of pride for every Telanganite though it was late. He congratulated family members of Mr Rao on behalf of the people. He recalled the services and contribution of the son of the soil on the occasion.

Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said it is a matter of pride for the entire country as the nationalist, visionary, multi-faceted personality, PV Narasimha Rao is being accorded Bharat Ratna. Stating that PV got due recognition for his services in various capacities, the Minister said the nation will remember him forever especially for his services in the field of economy, as he laid the foundation for the development of the country through his reforms.

Former Chief Minister and BRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao recalled his services in various fields. He said through PV, the people of Telangana have been honoured. He thanked the Central Government for accepting the request of the BRS to give Bharat Ratna to PV Narasimha Rao.

Meanwhile, people are immersed in celebrations in Laknepally in Warangal district where he was born and in Vangara village of Karimnagar district where he went for adoption, in Telangana state.
