Jharkhand: Champai Soren-led JMM-Congress alliance government wins trust vote
The Champai Soren-led JMM-Congress-RJD alliance government today won the trust vote in the Jharkhand State Assembly by passing the Floor Test with a majority of 47 votes in favour of the motion in the 81 member Assembly.
While 29 legislators opposed the motion, one JMM and one BJP legislator Ramdas Soren & Indrajit Mahatha remained absent from voting due to prolonged illness, one Independent MLA Saryu Roy abstained from voting, another Amit Kumar Mandal remained absent while one seat of Gandey constituency is vacant since December 2023.
Former CM and JMM Executive President Hemant Soren was allowed to vote after permission from PMLA court. Meanwhile, the former CM in his statement during the assembly played the victim card of being innocent and a tribal politician. He said he has been harassed with corruption charges on him as he belongs to tribal society.
