Hyderabad: An Expert Talk on Role of Fog-Empowered Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks in 5G Networks
Dr. Sanjay Kumar Panda, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at NIT Warangal, delivered an expert talk on the ‘Role of Fog-Empowered Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks in 5G Networks’ at GITAM School of Technology, Hyderabad, on February 2, 2024.
During the talk, Dr. Panda highlighted the significance of Fog Computing (FC) in providing vehicles with processing, storage, and networking power through Vehicular Ad-hoc networks (VANET). He emphasized that Fog Computing is promising to internet architecture for the emergence of modern technological approaches such as Fifth Generation (5G) networks and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Dr. Panda also discussed the challenges and solutions related to the mobility of vehicles, and the algorithm for using the 5G network and the pricing patron. He emphasized the importance of minimizing energy consumption by Fog Nodes (FN) and advised the students on the benefits of gaining practical experience in addition to their prescribed subjects.
The expert talk was attended by students and faculty members from the Department of CSE at GITAM School of Technology, and it provided valuable insights into the role of Fog-Empowered Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks in the development of 5G networks.
