Jharkhand: Champai Soren meets Governor with support of majority of 43 MLAs for formation of new Govt

The political situation in Jharkhand is under turmoil after the arrest of former CM Hemant Soren by ED on Wednesday. Champai Soren, JMM MLA and Leader of Alliance party today met Governor CP Radhakrishnan in Ranchi with the support of majority of 43 MLAs for the formation of new government in the State. He said that it has been more than 22 hours that Jharkhand has remained without a Chief Minister. Mr Soren also submitted a video testimonial to the Governor.
 
However, Governor has assured to return soon to the alliance party members after considering all formal legalities. The Governor has also said that the alliance party members will be informed by the Governor House on this issue.
 
Meanwhile, all the supporting 43 MLAs of the grand-alliance will be staying together at Begumpet in Hyderabad till further information is received from Governor House for formation of new government. The MLAs under Champai Soren have reached Birsa Munda Airport.

Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren produced before PMLA court in Ranchi

Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was presented by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Special PMLA court in Ranchi on Thursday. The ED requested the court for remand of Mr Soren. After the hearing, the Justice said that the verdict on remand will be pronounced on Friday. Former CM Hemant Soren has been sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail, Hotwar under judicial custody for one day. Security has been raked up in and around the jail and its premises.
