Dense fog, severe cold occur in many parts of country

Dense to very dense fog occurred at most places over Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, at many places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, and at isolated places over Rajasthan on 26 Jan 2024, Friday.

Indian Meteorological Department said that cold day to severe cold day occurred at many places over east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, west Uttar Pradesh, and at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Rajasthan.

Cold wave occurred at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and west Rajasthan. Met department said the lowest minimum temperature observed in the plains of Northwest India was 1.8 degree Celsius recorded at Balasmand in Haryana.
