First Test of five-match series of cricket between India and England to begin today in Hyderabad
In cricket, the first Test of the five-match series between India and England will begin today in Hyderabad. The match will start at 9.30 AM. The men in blue have been unassailable on home soil over the last 12 years. England was the last team to beat India in 2012 under Alastair Cook.
Hitman Rohit Sharma to lead the men in blue, while Vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will lead India’s pace attack with Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan. Wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel will be the lone new face in the squad.
Earlier, BCCI announced that batting maestro Virat Kohli has opted out of the two test matches while pacer Mohammed Shami was not named in the squad as he is continuing his recovery process from an injury that he suffered during the ODI World Cup last year. In the absence of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul is likely to slot into the middle-order.
