IMD predicts no respite from chilly winds in Bihar till next four days
The cold wave conditions continue to sweep Bihar. Normal life has been badly affected in the state due to prevailing chilly winds. Met Department has issued a Yellow alert for severe cold wave conditions for next three days in South Western and South Central regions of the state.
Severe Cold day was observed in Patna, Darbhanga, Araria, East Chamapran, Jamui, Vaishali and Samastipur districts. Met Department has said strong jet stream winds and westerly have prolonged the severe cold wave conditions in the state. Under the influence of these conditions, cold day conditions are being observed in several parts of the state.
Cold day conditions are prevailing in most of the parts of Bihar. Mercury has taken a plunge with minimum temperature being recorded below 8 degree Celsius in several parts. Gaya was recorded coldest place in the state where mercury dipped to 4.1 degree Celsius. The capital city Patna is also witnessing severe cold conditions this season.
The minimum temperature in the city was observed at 5.5 degrees Celsius. Due to dense fog in all parts, visibility has dipped affecting road, rail and air traffic. Flights and Rail traffic have been badly disrupted. Several to and fro flights from Patna and Darbhanga airports were delayed and cancelled due to poor visibility.
The Met Department has predicted that there will be no respite from chilly winds in the state till next four days.
