Several trains are running late due to obstructed visibility after dense to very dense fog was observed in many parts of the country. Northern Railways said that 22 trains arriving at the National Capital New Delhi are running late. These trains are delayed from one hour to over 6 hours with the Khajaurao-Kurukshetra Express and Hyderabad-New Delhi Express currently on a 6-and-a-half hour delay.
The trains include the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express, Amritsar-Nanded Express, Saharsa-New Delhi Vaishali Express, Rewa-Anand Vihar Express, Chennai-New Delhi Express and Vasco-Nizamuddin Express. The India Meteorological Department earlier today recorded very dense fog in Delhi with visibility of fifty.
IMD observes very dense fog conditions today in Northwest India; recorded visibility of 50 in Delhi
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has observed very dense fog conditions today in Northwest India. Parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi have been affected by the fog, resulting in low visibility during morning hours. The IMD registered zero visibility in isolated pockets of Punjab and Rajasthan, along with a visibility of 50 in Delhi. Moderate fog was observed in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The weather agency said that East and Northeast India are also affected by fog with parts of Tripura covered in dense fog, and parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha in moderate fog. The IMD recorded a visibility of 50 in Tripura.
