PM Modi to launch & lay foundation stone of projects worth Rs. 250 Crore during inaugural ceremony of Khelo India Youth Games at Chennai this evening

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin his three-day visit to Tamilnadu today. He will be the Chief Guest at the inauguration of the Khelo India Youth Games at Chennai this evening. During the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister will also launch and lay foundation stone for Rs.250 Crore worth of projects related to the Broadcasting sector.

This includes the launch of the revamped DD Podhigai channel as DD Tamil, 12 Akashvani FM projects in eight states and Four DD transmitters in Jammu and Kashmir. He will also virtually lay the foundation stone for 26 new FM transmitter Projects in 12 states.

Tamilnadu Governor R.N.Ravi, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin, Union Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports & Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nisith Pramanaik and State Minister for Sports Udhayanidhi will grace the occasion.
 
After his stay at Raj Bhavan tonight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will depart for Sriranganthar Temple at Tiruchirapalli tomorrow to participate in special rituals. In the afternoon, he is scheduled to participate in the Smarn Aur Darshan, Ramaan Path and Bhajan Sandhya at Sri Ramanathaswamy temple at Rameswaram after which he will return to Chennai.

On Sunday, Mr.Modi will have a darshan and special pooja at Kothandaramaswamy temple at Arichal Munai in the southernmost point at Rameswaram. Security has been increased multi-fold due to the visit of the Prime Minister.
