Delhi shivers in cold and fog with 120 flights delayed, 53 cancelled, 20 trains behind schedule
The national capital continues to grapple with biting cold and fog, causing delays and cancellations in flight and train operations today. According to the Delhi Airport Flight Information Display System (FIDS), around 120 flights including international were delayed by several hours at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.
Around 53 flights were also announced as cancelled due to dense fog. According to Indian Railways, around 20 passenger trains to Delhi were running behind schedule today. Two trains, Puri-Nizamuddin Purushottam Express and Hyderabad-New Delhi were delayed by around 6.30 hours.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that very dense fog conditions likely to continue to prevail over North India for the next four days. The weather agency also said that severe cold wave conditions, and severe cold day conditions will continue in Delhi and North India.
