West Bengal: Gangasagar Mela to end tomorrow; A record 1 crore pilgrims visited
The Gangasagar Mela in West Bengal will end tomorrow. A record number of 1 crore pilgrims visited Gangasagar Mela so far this year. As today is the first day of Magh in the Bengali calendar, the local people will participate in Sagar Snan.
The stalls in the Mela will remain for another 15 days for Ganga Mela which will start today. Today administration and ministers will participate in swachataa abiyinan at snan ghat number 6 of the Mela premises.
With the Shahi Snan ending at midnight on Monday, the pilgrims will start to gradually leave Gangasagar. However, due to foggy conditions this morning, the administration asked the pilgrims to avoid travelling.
