Many parts of country record minimum temperature of 3.0°C
The ongoing chilling winter across the country, many parts of the country have recorded a minimum temperature of 3.0°C on 13 Jan 2024, Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared it as the lowest temperature of this season.
IMD said that the lowest minimum temperature of 3.0°C reported was at Narnaul in Haryana, Ayanagar in Delhi, and Kanpur in East Uttar Pradesh. Dense to very dense fog was also observed in many parts of the country this morning. Several flight operations are delayed at Delhi airport due to low visibility amid fog.
IMD has forecast that dense to very dense fog conditions continue to prevail over North India for the next 4-5 days. The weather agency said that cold day to severe day wave conditions, and cold wave to severe cold waves are likely over the plains of Northwest India during the next 3-4 days.
IMD said that no significant change in minimum temperatures is very likely over Northwest India during the next 2 days. Cold wave to Severe Cold wave conditions are very likely to continue in some parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi from 13th to 15th January, and cold wave conditions in isolated pockets on 16th January. The IMD said that cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of West Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan from the 13th to the 15th of this month.
