IMD forecasts respite in cold wave conditions in northwest India

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that cold to severe cold day conditions is likely to reduce over northwest India from today. It said, the cold day conditions is likely to continue in isolated pockets of Rajasthan till today.

Cold to severe cold day conditions were observed in most places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh today. The lowest minimum temperature was observed in the plains of Northwest India was 3.8 degree Celsius recorded at Sikar in Rajasthan.

The weather office said, dense fog conditions will prevail in the morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura during next five days.

IMD has also predicted fall of minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degree Celsius over many parts of Central and East India during the next 3 to 4 days.
