Singareni: Immediate efforts to launch Naini Coal Block: State Deputy CM to visit Odisha soon: CMD N. Balaram
Mr. N. Balaram, Chairman and MD, SCCL stated that with the cooperation of the state government, we are moving forward as planned to get some new coal blocks along with the 4 new mines that will be started in Singareni this year. In a high-level meeting on new mines in Singareni, Hyderabad on Saturday, he discussed various issues in depth. The GMs of all areas were directed to proceed with appropriate activities on the new mines and make plans to complete the works within the specified time.
He discussed at length the plans and works of four new mines to be started in this financial year. He discussed the current situation of the Naini Coal Block undertaken by Singareni in the state of Odisha and said that the cooperation of the state government is needed for the last stage of permissions.
In this regard, State Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Shri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has taken a special initiative and is going to Bhubaneswar in the third week of this month to discuss with Odisha Chief Minister. With this, he expressed hope that the final approvals for this block will be completed and coal production will start from here very soon.
He said that one crore tonnes of coal will be produced from Naini coal block per year, but the production target is 60 lakh tonnes of coal in the first year. He said that the contract for moving coal from Naini coal block to the nearby railway siding has also been handed over.
Also, he directed the concerned authorities to complete the remaining permissions regarding the VK open cast mine to be started in Kothagudem area and prepare to produce at least 30 lakh tonnes of coal this year. He informed that the target of production of 43 lakh tonnes of coal per year from this mine.
Also, he ordered that at least 10 lakh tonnes of coal should be produced this year from Rompedu open cast mine which will be started with the target of producing 20 lakh tonnes of coal per year in Illendu area and all the related arrangements should be completed.
Goleti open cast mine to be started in Bellampally area, discussed with the concerned authorities on other issues. It has been ordered to produce at least 4 lakh tonnes of coal this year from this mine, which aims to produce 35 lakh tonnes of coal per year.
