Severe cold wave conditions continue to sweep North India during next two days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan for two days with cold to severe cold day conditions to continue.
IMD forecast dense to very dense fog continues at night and morning over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Odisha today. These conditions will also prevail over Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next three days.
The IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning at parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and south Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 4 to 5 days. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim for the next two days and over Madhya Pradesh for the next five days. It added that light rain and snowfall are expected over the Western Himalayan Region and plains of Northwest India from the 8th of this month.
Meanwhile, IMD said that very Dense fog conditions were observed this morning over Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Eastern Madhya Pradesh. It said, dense Fog was observed in some pockets over Rajasthan, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu, Western Madhya Pradesh and also in isolated pockets over Punjab and Delhi. At 5.30 this morning, Visibility was recorded at 50 meters in some parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Delhi.
