Maharashtra: Dy. CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates India International Jewellery Trade Show in Goregaon, Mumbai

Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that the upcoming Gems & Jewellery Park at Navi Mumbai and the Common Facility Centre at SEEPZ Special Economic Zone help India achieve its export target of 75 billion dollars by 2030.

Speaking at the inauguration of India International Jewellery Trade Show -IIJS 2024 in Goregaon in Mumbai, Mr. Fadnavis said, these initiatives will create a new ecosystem in the gems and jewellery industry and help Maharashtra preserve its status as an ace exporter. He added that Mumbai accounts for 72 per cent of the annual 37 billion dollars of exports recorded for this sector.

Stating that completion of the Common Facility Centre (CFC) at SEEPZ in just 17 months will allow exporters, especially in the MSME sector to have hassle-free shipment, paperwork and facilitate ease of doing business and reduce the cost of doing business.

Thanking the Maharashtra Government for its support, the Chairman of Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, Mr. Vipul Shah said the jewellery park at Navi Mumbai will be a one-stop-shop with Single Window Clearance for government approvals under the Maitri Policy, making processes smoother and faster.

Talking about the mega CFC in SEEPZ, Mr. Shah said the groundbreaking initiative aims to enhance the manufacturing capacity, foster technological advancements, and provide comprehensive skill development opportunities.

The 16th edition of India International Jewellery Trade Show will have 1,500 exhibitors occupying 3,000 stalls across a sprawling 1.25 lakh square meters of exhibition area. The exhibition is being held at JIO World Convention Centre, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) from 4th to 7th January while at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon from 5th to 8th January.
