Overburden of 15 lakh cubic meters per day should be removed
New CMD Mr. N. Balaram’s direction in review with GMs
Mr. N. Balaram, Chairman and MD, SCCL clarified that every day is worth in achieving the 70 million tonne production target set by Singareni Collieries this year.. for this everyone should work with dedication. In order to meet the country’s energy requirements, 2.24 lakh tonnes of coal per day should be produced and transported and the overburden of 15 lakh cubic meters per day should be removed in order to have enough coal reserves for 21 days at the thermal power stations in the coming summer season.
After taking charge as the Chairman and MD of Singareni Collieries, for the first time, he reviewed the production, continuous miners including Adriala Long Wall Project, CHPs and directed the development of the company in a review meeting held through video conference with GMs of all areas as well as GMs and superiors of various departments.
The CMD stated that coal production, transportation and overburden removal during the first 9 months of this year are promising as compared to the previous financial year. Compared to last year, coal production has increased by 5.15 percent to 49.66 million tons, transportation has increased by 8 percent to 51 million tons, and overburden removal has increased by 6 percent to 306.6 million cubic meters, he said.

With the same spirit, they want to work together to achieve the target in the next three months. He said that everyone’s performance will be examined to move forward as a team. Also inquired about the problems faced in starting new projects. He explained that a special initiative will be taken on land acquisition and other permissions by talking to the state government.
The CMD stated that he would talk to the higher authorities of the state to start production from the coal block taken up by the Singareni company at Naini in Odisha as soon as possible. State Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka said that he will talk to the Odisha state government and work to resolve the issues regarding this project.
Work culture should be improved
Mr. N. Balaram, CMD, said that each and every employee and officer should fulfill their responsibilities properly in making Singareni a top level company in the country. . Everyone wants to work hard to increase Singareni work culture. He said that the talent of everyone who works creatively will be recognized. They want to increase production and productivity by introducing new technology from time to time. A large number of experienced GMs in Singareni are retiring at the same time, and in this context, they want to encourage young officers to lay strong foundations for the future of the organization.
