Krnataka: Forest Minister orders inquiry into Belur tree felling

Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has warned that illegal felling of trees worth crores of rupees has come to their attention in the Belur forest area of Hassan district.

In this case, MP Pratap Singh’s brother Vikram Singh Hasan was involved in smuggling trees worth crores of rupees in Belur taluk by cutting down the trees by the tehsildar Mamata, Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre explained.

The minister said that some officials of the forest department also joined hands in this matter while inquiring about the details of the incident.
