Dr Vasudha Gupta, PDG, Akashvani inaugurates 75 Years ‘Diamond Jubilee’ Pylon at Akashvani Vijayawada Premises

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Akashvani Vijayawada Kendra grandly took place on Friday at the Akashvani Vijayawada Premises. Dr Vasudha Gupta, Principal Director General, Akashvani graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Gupta inaugurated the 75 Years ‘Diamond Jubilee’ Pylon and started the program with lightening of the lamp.

Dr. Vasudha Gupta conveyed the heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the staff members and listeners of Akashvani Vijayawada on Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Addressing the gathering, Principal Director General said that Akashvani Vijayawada has played an important role in promoting the socio-economic development of the area and spreading awareness of the vibrant cultural heritage of the region.

She added that Akashvani Vijayawada has done a commendable job in the dissemination of information during Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Gupta said that Akashvani Vijayawada Kendra is at the forefront in taking Prime Minister Mann Ki Baat to the people of Andhra Pradesh in Telugu. Regional News Bulletins and Programmes like classical music, Farm & Home are the popular segments, she added.

Eminent artists and staff who were awarded National Awards for their exemplary services and brought laurels to the Akashvani Vijayawada Kendra were felicitated. Cultural Programmes were conducted during the occasion. Retired officials recollected their memories with Akashvani Vijayawada Kendra. They were also felicitated.
