In Kerala, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has said, that social reformer and spiritual leader Sree Narayana Guru was never a follower of foreign tradition or culture, but one who remained steadfast in his belief in Sanatana Dharma and Advaita.
He was inaugurating a seminar, “Sree Narayana Guru: the Prophet of Renaissance “, organised by the Sanathana Dharma Peedhom and Bharatiya Vichara Kendra at Calicut University today.
The Governor observed that Sree Narayana Guru redefined the social role of a sannyasin through his unique philosophy of equality and universal brotherhood. He said the life and teachings of the Guru remain more stronger and relevant today than ever before.
Anxious moments prevailed at the Calicut University campus briefly when some SFI students protesting against the Governor near the meeting venue, breached the police cordon. They were, however, soon overpowered and removed by the police. The Governor later left for Thiruvananthapuram.
