India Records 112 Deaths in 2022 from Tiger Attacks
The Centre today informed that in 2022 a total of 112 deaths took place in the country due to tiger attacks. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Union Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Bhupinder Yadav informed that the highest number of deaths is 85 in Maharashtra followed by 11 in Uttar Pradesh. He said during the past five years 302 people died in the incidents of tiger attacks.
The Minister said the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has suggested several measures to avoid man versus wild clashes. He further said during 2022 compensation of more than 14.78 crore rupees were given to the affected families.
