Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accepted the resignation of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has accepted the resignation of Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy with effect from yesterday.

Mr Reddy who had resigned from the membership of the Lower House, belonging to Indian National Congress, was representing Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency.

This was announced by the Speaker this morning after the question hour. The Member had won the recent Assembly polls in Telangana from Nalgonda constituency. 
 
With this, 18 Lok Sabha seats are now vacant. 13 Lok Sabha MPs were elected as MLAs in the recently concluded assembly polls in four states.
