Telangana: Governor exhorts VCs to encourage students to participate in Viksit Bharat@2047 movement
Telangana State Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan today exhorted the Vice-Chancellors (VCs) to adopt innovative practices to encourage students to participate in the Viksit Bharat@2047 movement in a big way.
Addressing Vice chancellors as part of the Viksit Bharat@2047 workshop, the Governor asked the VCs to encourage students to be partners in the transformation that the country will undergo in the next 25 years.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said nothing is impossible to achieve and countries like Japan, Germany, and Singapore proved it. The Governor further said VCs and faculty should become motivators for students to contribute to the transformation of the country and become a developed country.
The Governor also emphasized the need to impart to students their responsibilities like voting and taking part in all activities on the campus like making it clean and managing their resources among others.
Earlier, the VCs and faculty members made several suggestions during panel discussions on ‘Empowered Indians’ and ‘Innovation, Science and Technology’ as part of the workshop virtually organized by the Niti Ayog.
As part of it, several VCs and faculty members of various educational institutions ranging from One education policy for the country, equal funding to State universities, skill upgradation to youth, developing infrastructure in rural areas on par with the urban areas, making cities walkable as movement is the first step of freedom, transformation in policies and improving human and happiness indexes among others.
