Newly elected Members of Telangana Legislative Assembly administered oath

The first session of the third Assembly of Telangana state has been adjourned till Thursday, 14th of December after members took the oath. The session commenced this morning under the chairmanship of Pro-tem speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi of the MIM.

The newly elected representatives have taken oath as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Soon after the Session began, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy followed by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka took oath as members of the Legislative Assembly. Then, Ministers followed by women members and later the other members, have taken the oath.
 
Alleging that the Congress intentionally made MIM member Akbaruddin Owaisi as pro-tem speaker despite the presence of many seniors in the house, the BJP members boycotted the session. The BJP members-elect announced that they will take oath after the speaker takes over.

Former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was absent in the session due to his surgery. His son and former minister K Taraka Ramarao also announced that due to his father’s surgery, he is not able to take oath on the first day and he will do it on some other day. 

Ministers of Telangana State Cabinet have been given portfolios on Saturday. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has given the list of portfolios to Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday morning and the same have been issued in a gazette notification a short while ago.

Accordingly, the Chief Minister will have departments including Municipal Administration, Urban Development, General Administration and those which are not allocated to anyone. Dy. Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has been allocated Finance, Planning and Energy.

Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has been allocated Irrigation, Food and Civil supplies, while D Rajanarasimha got Health, Medical and Family Welfare and Science and Technology.

K Venkat Reddy got Roads and Buildings and Cinematography, D Sridhar Babu got IT, Electronics- Communications, Industries, Commerce and Legislative Affairs. P Srinivas Reddy will have departments of Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations while Transport and BC welfare will be with P Prabhakar.
   
K Surekha has been given Environment, Forests and Endowment while D Anasyuya Sitakka got Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Women and Child Development. T Nageswar Rao has been given Agriculture, Marketing, Cooperation and Handloom and Textiles while J Krishna Rao has been given Prohibition and Excise, Tourism and Archaeology.
