MOD and TCIL Rs. 588.68 Cr Digital Coast Guard (DCG) project unveiled, elevating the ICG into technology arena
New Delhi, 08 Dec 23 : In alignment with the Government of India’s strategic vision for a Digital Armed Force, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and M/s Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) have officially sealed a transformative contract.
Valued at Rs 588.68 crores, this milestone agreement, formalized in New Delhi on 08 Dec 2023, is exclusively dedicated to the realization of the Digital Coast Guard (DCG) project, a pivotal initiative for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
This strategic collaboration unfolds a comprehensive narrative of technological progression, encompassing the construction of an advanced Data Center, establishment of a robust Disaster Recovery Data Center, amplification of connectivity across 109 ICG sites, and the development of the SAFAL ERP system. Seamlessly aligned with the ‘Buy(Indian)’ imperative, the project leverages secured MPLS/VSAT connectivity, propelling itself to the forefront of cutting-edge defense technology.
At its core, the Digital Coast Guard project marks the establishment of a Tier-III standard Data Center, armed with the latest technological capabilities. Functioning as the nerve center, it enables centralized monitoring and management of applications deployed by the ICG, ensuring vigilant oversight of critical IT assets.
