Tamil Nadu: Cyclone Michong effect flood terror in Chennai: Govt declares public holiday

Due to the impact of Cyclone Michong, the people of Tamil Nadu, especially Chennai, are in dire straits due to the flood terror. The airport and the railway station were inundated flood water throughout Chennai. Road, Air and Railway traffic to Chennai has stopped. Power supply has been interrupted. The Tamilnadu Government has declared a public holiday for tomorrow as heavy rains are to continue in Chennai Tiruvallur Kanchipuram and Chengalpet. Nine NDRF teams are ready to deal with the situation.

Arterial. roads in Chennai are flooded. The main reservoir Chembarambakkam supplying water to Chennai is fast filling up and 500 cusecs of water is to be released every half an hour even as heavy rains are pounding South Andhra.
