Kemei Elias Caprono of Kenya wins 37th Pune International Marathon held this morning
Kemei Elias Caprono of Kenya emerged as the winner of the full marathon in the 37th Pune International Marathon organized in Pune today. Simon Maina Mongi and Adere Hallu of Ethiopia bagged the second and third spot respectively in this category.
The full marathon started at 3.30 am today and the half marathon started at 4.00 am from Sanas Maidan. The runners traversed length and breadth of Pune city through Saras Bagh, Sinhagad Road, Nanded City and the competition concluded at Sanas Maidan itself.
The competitions in various other categories like 10 km, 5 km and 3 km and family run were also organized in which hundreds of enthusiasts participated. Pune Municipal Corporation had provided 25 lakh rupees for the competition and prizes to winners and this year’s theme of the marathon was “run for environment conservation”.
