Karnataka: Several schools in Bengaluru receive bomb threats

In Karnataka, several schools in Bengaluru received the bomb threats on Friday (1st December 2023) through email. The school authorities informed the police about the threat and called out to parents to take back their children from the schools. The bomb squads were pressed into service to search for the bombs which turned out to be a hoax.
 
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed officials to carry out a thorough investigation into the bomb threats. State Home Minister G Parameshwara has said that stringent action will be initiated against the perpetrators.

He asked parents not to panic and assured that the cyber crime police will track down the accused. Our Correspondent adds that similar hoax bomb threat emails were received by several schools in Bengaluru in 2022 also.
