SBM-GOBARdhan Biogas Conference to be held tomorrow aims to accelerate Waste to Wealth and Circular Economy

Acceleration of the Compressed Biogas sector will be high on the agenda of the SBM-GOBARdhan Biogas Conference to be held in New Delhi tomorrow.

The conference will be organized under the aegis of the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
 
Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (GOBARdhan) is an initiative that aims to convert waste to wealth and build a robust ecosystem for setting up compressed biogas plants. It aims to drive sustainable economic growth and promote a circular economy.
 
The conference will have discussions on transformational policies for ‘waste to compressed biogas’ projects, the existing National policies, and initiatives that promote biogas development in India.
 
India aims for net-zero emissions by 2070 as per Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) in which waste to biogas is expected to play a crucial role.
