Campaigning hits top gear for Telangana Assembly Elections

Campaigning has hit the top gear for Telangana Assembly Elections to be held on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a public meeting at Toopran in Medak district. He said, BRS party promised to give schemes but only given scams. In a scathing attack on BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr Modi said instead of working for children of people, he worked for his own children during the past 10 years.

Mr Modi alleged that the BRS chief did scams worth crores of rupees and increased his wealth. He claimed that farmers and people of Telangana have decided to permanently send him to farmhouse. Mr Modi also alleged that out of fear only KCR is contesting in two constituencies.

He said, only BJP can assure development, and Sakala Janula Sowbhagya Telangana. Recalling the attack on Mumbai, Mr Modi said only the BJP can suppress terrorism. He also equated Congress and BRS for family rule, appeasement politics and corruption.
 
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a rally in Andole, also in Medak district. He said, defeating the BRS government in Telangana is the first target of his party and later defeating the BJP at the national level. He further claimed that about eight thousand farmers committed suicide in Telangana.

Holding the BRS government responsible for the same, Mr Gandhi said farmers will be protected and congress will provide them 15 thousand rupees for an acre per year. Senior BJP leader Amit Shah and several other leaders are also campaigning in the state today.
